Samsa's Unassorted Confectioneries

SAMSA'S UNASSORTED CONFECTIONERIES is a product design project that I initially created in 2015 as an undergraduate at the University of Central Missouri. Instructor John F. Malta tasked each us to create the brand design for a line of candy based on a famous piece of literature our choosing. In 2021, I decided to revisit this project and develop the idea even further.

For my project, I chose to focus on Franz Kafka's The Metamorphosis, a story about how Gregor Samsa turned into a hideous vermin. Inspired by the life, detritus, and eating habits of Gregor illustrated throughout the novel, I set to create a brand that bridged between both the eponymously Kafkaesque tone of the work as well as the fun and enjoyable experience of both mystery-flavored candies and candy blind boxes.

Thanks for checking out my work!
